1. Install Xcode 3.1 or above (download from apple developer network)
2. Download Macports from http://www.macports.org/install.php
3. Quit and restart the terminal
4. Makesure /opt/local/bin is in PATH
5. run
sudo port -v selfupdate
6. run
sudo port install xfig
